Payton's new friends!

Payton has been lucky enough to have some new friends to play with. Cousins Reese and Mackenzie came to town Sunday night and are here for 6 weeks, and yesterday a friend from high school had a layover in Juneau so we had a chance to catch up and let our little ones play!

Harbor Cruise

This morning Payton and I took Amber and the girls down to Erik's tugboat "Ethan B" to have lunch and take it out for a spin around the harbor. All the kids took turns driving the boat. But I think the favorite activity was honking the horn. We had to put an end to that as we were afraid the Coast Guard would hear the horn and see the tugboat weaving all around and come investigate :)

While we were in Tenakee, Lisa let Payton borrow her dancing chicken. Payton LOVED him. He packed him around everywhere, slept with him, wouldn't even let his friend Aaron look at him!! Here's Payton showing off his moves!

Payton and I took advantage of my benefits of working for a seaplane company and went to Tenakee with Frances and Janalynn (and Aaron)! Payton had a BALL! He got to play outside all day, everyday. There were tons of rocks to throw, free spatulas/spoons from the "bus stop", and all kinds of fun 4-wheelers and golf carts to drive.

Payton walked most places, and rode in the buggy the rest. His favorite part was to "help" push the stroller.


He loved sitting in the city's Kabota.

Payton LOVED the dancing duck we borrowed from Lisa. He packed it everywhere! He even got mad if Aaron would play with it and immediately drop what he was doing and go snatch the duck.

I posted a video of Payton spinning in his swing. Today I tested out the "sports action" mode of my camera. I think these pictures turned out pretty good! It's obvious that Payton is having a great time!

New Camera!

I've been saving my pennies to buy a digital SLR camera. Costco had a great deal on a Canon Rebel XSi package...so I bought it! I'm still learning all the neat things about this camera but I can't wait to get it all figured out! Here's Payton drinking out of the hose today. He's been obsessed with it ever since Erik taught him how last week.

A stroll to the Mendenhall

We've been so lucky to have such nice weather these past two weeks! Tonight we took a stroll out to Nugget Falls after dinner. Erik and I spent most of the time chasing Payton out of the water, and he spent the whole time throwing rocks in the lake! Cedar just swam and ate sticks.

Payton's friend Cayman comes to play every Wednesday for a few hours. Living in Juneau, we always joke that you know you're from Southeast when your kids have the same clothes and toys. I couldn't resist dressing Payton to match Cayman. Lord help me if I ever have twins :)

Such a big boy now!

We brought Payton's picnic table in from the back deck. He LOVES sitting on it and eating and playing with cars. Lately he's been insisting on using the spoon all by himself. It's really cute to see him off in the corner sitting at his table looking so grown up. What happened to my baby?

Twin Lakes

We're going on day 8 of our sweltering weather :) I've been enjoying every ray! We went to Twin Lakes playground to cool off in the water and enjoy the sun!

Coffee for two!

Payton has been wanting a few sips of my morning mocha lately. It started out innocent, but he's been wanting more and more as the days press on! I'd rather not start him THIS young on caffiene...and I don't need any more trouble with him sleeping ;) so I've been making him his own "mocha" minus the espresso (don't tell him that!) On the upside, he'll be getting his milk intake! He refuses to drink plain milk.
